About Me and This Blog

About me: I’m Stacy Bearden, and I own a music business in Sulphur, Louisiana: Bearden’s Music, Inc. I have a degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from McNeese State University. I’ve been teaching for 20 years. For the past almost seven years I was the worship leader at a local Baptist church. I play piano, of course, saxophone, bass, guitar, and as of August 15 of this year the cello. Cello has now taken over all of my music practice time while at work, so this blog will be a lot of information about learning cello and my experiences with this new instrument.

About the blog: I hope to record my experience with learning cello as well as my experiences teaching, ideas about teaching, and general ideas about music education and performance. For non-musicians I can’t imagine this blog being interesting. For musicians, I simply hope it is not boring! I encourage anyone who reads to comment and talk with me and eventually with “us” about performance and education.
